Rob Johnson, Partner
Rob has 18 years of experience in the energy industry with roles in trading, marketing and principal investments. Rob spent the last nine years with Castleton Commodities most recently as Managing Director of Principal Investments, leading development projects and acquisitions across the energy spectrum. Rob played a lead role in developing and commercializing a portfolio of USGC midstream assets sold to Energy Transfer. Previously, Rob was employed at Colonial Pipeline where he led a multi-billion dollar pipeline expansion project. Rob started his career as a refined products trader at Transmontaigne. Rob earned a BS in business from Wake Forest University and a MBA from Georgia State University.
William Gaunt, Managing Director
Will has 10 years of experience in a combination of principal investment and transaction execution roles. Will spent four years as Vice President of Principal Investments with Castleton Commodities International, responsible for sourcing and executing development and M&A opportunities. Previously, Will worked in the Global Energy Group at UBS Investment Bank in Houston, the M&A group at Moelis & Co. in London and as a corporate lawyer with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in London, where he advised on M&A, IPO, High Yield and other securities transactions. Will earned an MBA from The Wharton School, a Juris Doctor from University of Pennsylvania Law School and a BA (Economics) from Vanderbilt University.
Michael Yates, Managing Director
Michael has 12 years of experience focused in upstream, midstream and downstream principal investing. Prior to Junction, Michael spent 7 years at Koch Supply & Trading where most recently he oversaw principal investments and structured finance initiatives across a multitude of commodity segments. Previously, Michael worked at Black Stone Minerals in Houston and Frost Bank in Dallas. Michael holds a BBA in finance from Southern Methodist University.
Michael Dowling, Chairman
Mike has 37 years of experience in the midstream natural gas business in operations, commercial management, trading and business development. Prior to his departure in 2015, Mr. Dowling was the Head of Business Development and President of the Asset Investment Group at Castleton Commodities International (and its predecessor Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy) for 17 years. Prior to joining CCI in 1998, Mr. Dowling was Director of Asset Marketing for NGC Corp., managing its NGL asset infrastructure. Mr. Dowling holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
George Demontrond, Vice President
George has over 12 years experience in the energy industry, primarily focused on principal investing. Prior to joining Junction, George spent 10 years at First Reserve Corporation where his responsibilities ranged from deal origination and structuring to due diligence, execution and monitoring. Previously, George was as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Energy, Utilities & Chemicals Group at Deutsche Bank. George holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Rice University.
Kevin Canaday, Vice President of Operations
Kevin has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. His background includes management of terminals, marine facilities, pipelines, trucking and acquisitions. Kevin has spent the past two years as VP of Operations for JP Energy Partners. Prior to that Kevin worked for Tesoro Logistics and Buckeye Partners holding various management positions. Kevin has been directly involved in multiple large acquisitions and growth development projects. Kevin received a BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
Evans Finger, Associate
Evans joined Junction Energy Capital in August 2017 as an Associate. Prior to joining Junction, Evans held internships at Phillips 66 and Owner Resource Group, a middle market private equity firm. Previously, Evans worked at Gelber & Associates, a boutique energy advisory and consulting firm in Houston. Evans earned a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and a MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas.
Jessie Bitter, Office Manager
Jessie joined Junction Energy Capital in December 2017 as the Office Manager. Prior to joining Junction, Jessie worked for AMD Global and Roberts Wealth Management, responsible for various functions including administration, marketing, human resources, IT and operations. Jessie earned a BS in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management from Indiana University.
